Pocsag Südtirol: An App for Emergency Alerts
Pocsag Südtirol is a free online service that allows members of civil protection organizations to receive alarm notifications via mail, SMS*, and push. The app is not an alternative for personal alert systems.
How it works:
Members of an organization can register for free and receive authorization from their respective radio operator. After that, they can receive and view Pocsag messages through the app. Organizations can also create internal messages that will be displayed in the app. For example, "Road closure on Main Street from Mondayto Wednesdaydue to excavation work."
For external persons and companies:
Pocsag Südtirol offers the possibility of notifying external persons and companies. However, they will only receive a message saying that a Pocsag message has been received. This feature is intended for companies and relatives so that the alerted member does not have to contact them. (This service is also free.)
Other features:
Each organization receives a free account to manage its members. Managing members in this case means adding Pocsag loops and groups, and editing permissions.
Pocsag Südtirol includes an emergency map in the device house. This map displays the emergency coordinates (if available), and other information.
- SMS is a paid service.
